Pesticide Training

Learn to protect yourself from pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, & fungicides and learn how to comply with EPA's Worker Protection Standard (WPS). The WPS requires pesticide applicators and handlers to receive training regarding the proper use, handling, and precautions of agricultural chemicals. General-use and restricted-use pesticides are included in the WPS, which requires training for the mixing, loading, transferring or applying of agricultural chemicals. EPA requires attendance of this course at least once every five years.

Learn about handler and employer responsibilities and how the Worker Protection Standard affects you. Get in-depth information on labeling requirements, environmental precautions, and steps used to protect yourself and the public. Learn about the special requirements of Commercial Pesticide Handlers and proper equipment handling, inspection and cleaning. Understand the selection of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for each chemical and the proper maintenance & cleaning of PPE.
