The Nebraska Safety Council Adult Driver Education course is designed to give you the confidence and knowledge to prepare for the Driver’s License Exam at the Department of Motor Vehicles or simply improve your skills behind the wheel for out of practice drivers. If you are 18 years of age or older, this comprehensive course will give you the opportunity to improve your skills behind the wheel and establish safe driving habits.
The Adult Driver Education course includes classroom instruction as well as behind-the-wheel training, which will make you a safer driver, help you better recognize and identify hazards on the road, improve your driving skills, and in some cases, help reduce insurance premiums.
Course Curriculum:
- 8 hours of classroom instruction (Two 4-hour classes OR One 8-hour course)
- 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel Time
Behind the Wheel Includes:
- Highway/gravel
- Parallel/perpendicular/angle parking
- Marked and unmarked streets/intersections
- Interstate driving
- Heavy, city-traffic driving
