Smoking Cessation Tobacco RedSmoking remains the leading preventable cause of death and disease in the U.S. Quitting can be difficult, but there are proven strategies to help people quit successfully. Although a majority of smokers make a quit attempt each year, more than two-thirds of adult cigarette smokers are not using evidence-based treatment to quit.

Smoking impacts our workforce on and off the job. A recent study found that the average smoker will cost their employer approximately $6,000 per year in excess medical bills and lost productivity. They will outpace coworkers by three days per annum in taking sick leave. An effective tobacco cessation program can truly impact your bottom line.

Support your employees in their quit efforts with our Tobacco Cessation Course. There’s a total of 6 sessions that last between 30-45 minutes each, that can be offered onsite or via webcast. Combine the course with health coaching to increase the likelihood of quitting – for good. Smokers are particularly vulnerable for a few reasons:

  • Act of smoking involves fingers (and possibly contaminated cigarettes) are in contact with lips increasing the possibility of transmission of the virus from hand to mouth.
  • Smokers may also have lung disease or reduced lung capacity, increasing the risk of serious illness and requiring longer recovery time.
  • Smoking products like water pipes are often communal and involve sharing mouthpieces and hoses.
